Medicine

Information technology and artificial intelligence in particular offer a broad variety of methods relevant for the medical domain. The analysis and automatic incorporation of elicited knowledge plays an important role in different fields of medicine. For instance, in intensive-care units huge amounts of data are collected automatically at the bedside. The analysis of this data allows to ease the work of physicians by providing reliable alarm systems and decision support systems. Clinical protocols are a way to guarantee a high quality of treatment in health care.
